How to win at Texas Holdem poker: Play against weak opponents
The main goal of Texas Holdem poker is to pick up as much pots (this is the accumulated money or chips in the middle of the poker table) as you possibly can. By saying as much pots as possible, I mean as much BIG pots as possible, because that is where the money in poker is.
If you lose a lot of small pots, but win one really huge one, then guess what, you can still be in profit, but if you pick up a lots of small pots and lose one really big one, then you may as well lose all your previous profits from small pots. I am not saying that small pots do not mather, of course they do, just make sure you do not lose the big ones, since that is where most of the long term profits derive from.
Now that we have cleared that up, lets focus on the poker strategy mentioned in the title of this article: Playing Texas Holdem against weak opponents.
Choosing poker tables with weak opponents and playing Texas Holdem against them is one of the best strategies that you as a serious poker player can use. If you are wondering why, then think about my theory below:
Poker, especially Texas Holdem, has a lot to do with skill. That means that some players are better than the other ones due to better poker education or longer experience, which further on leads to the fact that these better players will eventually take all the money from the weak ones, if they were to play at the same poker table long enough.
Therefore, if you really want to win at Texas Holdem, make sure to avoid playing poker against better players than you, and instead, find poker tables with weak opponents, who allow you to play profitable against them.
