Deer Drive Game – A Gamer’s Review
Deer Drive Game is basically a deer shooting game for Wii. It’s not a hunting game as some people may initially think upon hearing about this game. Players will aim to kill any animal that runs in the screen. You can kill a squirrel, bear or a moose. You can kill everything, except for does. You need to watch for a bear or moose that head your way because if they successfully reach you, you’re as good as dead.
During the game, an annoying voice will react to your every shot. The controls of the game have terrible responsiveness especially when reloading or activating “Breath Control,” which bizarrely slows down the time. It is frustrating when you hit the reload button and nothing happens, while a bear is rushing towards you. You need to tap the A button constantly to reload until the game notices you and responds.
Another drawback in this game is the inaccurate shot assessment or false-claims of your shot. For one example, you saw a deer running to the left of your screen, then you pull the trigger and you know for sure that you have hit its neck but the voice over will say “just a grazed.” Add the annoying voice feedbacks of your shot and you get yourself one of the most frustrating moments of your gaming life.
Despite all this, Deer Drive is still a fun game to play, but only if you accept its shortcomings and learn to play with all the patience that you can get.
